On Saturday , November 2, around 9am, this Snowy Egret was wading in the salt marsh during very low tide. He was shuffling his pretty golden slippers through the mud to stir up tiny delicacies, often shrimp. Taken with my Sony a9 mirrorless plus. 1.4x teleconverter, 1/2000s, f9, ISO400, 840mm.

This is one of the pair of eagles that return to the same nest each year. The tree this one is in is the tree they hang out in when not nesting. It?s so exciting to see these majestic raptors and we always hope to see one or two eaglets before they leave in the spring.

The lake in the Bird Sanctuary at Dauphin Island has water lilies scattered about. When they are in bloom, it is a beautiful view from one end to the other.

As I was walking on the pier, returning to my car, I saw this Great Blue Heron sitting in the rail. I began taking pictures at a distance, taking a few more steps, and another picture, in case he decided to fly. He had no intention of flying even as I got closer and closer. I took this picture, then walked slowly by without looking at him. When I got a few feet on the other side, I turned to find that he had not moved at all. It was a very hot July day.

I first spotted this juvenile Yellow-crowned Night Heron as it flew to a small pond of water on the beach. I turned to see some other birds and then turned back to see this bird had flown to the log. I was happy to get this shot because in an instant, he had moved on.

A sweet family asked me to take their pictures at sunset on the west end of Dauphin Island. I turned around and snapped this bird-shaped rain cloud. Pelican? Hummingbird? Can?t go wrong with sunsets at the Sunset Capital of Alabama!

I wanted to shoot the lunar eclipse but at the same time incorporate some quintessential Fort Worth icons into the image for context. I knew I would need to use a very long telephoto to get a large moon but in doing so knew that the rest of the image would need to be some distance from me due to the tunnel vision of the telephoto. I used Photopills and The Photographer?s Ephemeris to plan the shot which was taken with Fuji X system mirrorless equipment.

Using light and shade to capture the beauty in the harshness of urban industrial architecture. Rekindling a love of black and white photography, I took this photograph whilst on a Brighton Photography Group 'Urban Architecture in Black & White Photography' study event led by Tobias Slater-Hunt. Having spent a winter of dark clouds, rain and dull skies, it was an opportunity to make the most of the year's new beautiful March sunshine.

I couldn?t sleep on Thursday March 13th, so I took out my camera and remembered there was a blood moon scheduled to appear tonight after midnight. I steeped outside, set up my tripod and camera. It was rather chilly so I grabbed a coat and stood on the patio waiting for the show to begin. Slowly the moon started to disappear. I waited patiently and photographed every phase in that 1.5 hours until the entire moon was covered and the amazing colors started to glow. Truly a beautiful capture as th
